Hebron School Ooty

A warm welcome to the Hebron School website!  Thank you for your interest and we hope to be able to welcome you in person when you make your way ‘up the hill’ to our lovely campuses in Ooty.

Hebron School was founded in 1899 to serve the Christian worker community of India and South-East Asia.  More than a century has passed and the School continues to fulfil its original purpose although it has grown in size and is styled an International School recognised as such by the Government of India and the State of Tamil Nadu.  It is a co-educational and predominantly boarding school for children aged 8 years to 19 years.  About 10% of our students are day students (with staff children and children from the Defence Services Staff Training College in Wellington in addition).  Students study the English National Curriculum leading to IGCSE in Standards 10 and 11 and to A  levels in Standards 12 and 13.

All schools rightly claim to be unique, and Hebron is no exception.  Its uniqueness is spelt out in its Aims which are listed on the next page.  But as you explore the many pages of this website I am sure you will catch the enthusiasm and energy that make Hebron such a unique school – indeed it is much more; it is a very special learning community with a strategic role to play in caring for and educating each child entrusted to us, in the most wholesome and effective way.

Hebron is unapologetically a Christian school and in everything we do we try to exemplify our motto: Deo Supremo (God first).  That is the reason we exist and the reason we strive to do things in the best possible way – for God’s glory.  We welcome you to Hebron School and assure you of our commitment to service.
